Durable and cool for professional use

I am a profesional dog groomer. I currently own almost every single Andis CeramicEdge Blade: #40, #30, #15, two #10's, two #7's, #5, #4, #3 3/4 and #5/8' HT. I also own the following SKIP tooth blades: #7, #5, #4 and #3 3/4. I did tons of research before I decided on these blades.I have been using most of these blades for almost 10 years. They DO NOT heat up nearly as fast as the regular stainless steel blades. I have directly compared them many times to reach this conclusion. The ceramic absolutely stays sharp. In fact, when you get your blades sharpened, they only sharpen the metal! To reduce wear and tear on the blades, and thus reduce drag on the clippers and trips to the blade sharpener, I do the following: I use the low setting on my Andis 2 speed clipper most of the time. I keep my blades very clean and well lubricated. I rarely ever use blade coolant (makes that blade stick and drag). And I place the hot blade face down on a small piece of marble as I switch to another blade. This is how I keep my blades clean: I brush the hair off during and after every single use. I use the Andis clipper oil after every use, which greatly reduces friction and drag, and further reduces heating. I keep them in a blade holder, teeth pointing down so excess oil can drip off. I also use a 'blade wash' to dip the tip of the blades every month. To use the blade wash (Andis' works great): first I move the cutter to one side as I VERY carefully brush away all the hair, and repeat on the other side. Next I reattach the blade to the clipper and dip the teeth into the blade wash for a few seconds, with paper towels handy. Then I remove the blade and let it soak for 30 mins (to sanitize). Afterwards I use the high powered blower to blast away all excess wash (use safety gear!). Lastly I re-lubricate the blade using the Andis oil and wipe off any excess. This keeps the blade clean and sanitary and greatly reduces the chance of rust.Never shave a wet dog. Too much work for the clipper and causes rust on the metal blade (not the ceramic). I have dedicated blades for dirty and clean/bathed dogs. I never drop my blades. The one time I did (with the cutter pushed to one side/exposed) it got a small chip in the ceramic. However the blade is still safe and usable. The ceramic cutter greatly minimizes the heat build up. I can use a metal blade on low speed for about 5 mins before having to cool it down. I can use the same ceramic blade on low speed for 15+ mins before having to cool it down. Plus, ceramic holds a sharp edge years longer than metal, because it is much stronger.Bottom line: yes I would recommend these blades over any other brand or style. The reviewers who say the blades heat up are either not keeping the blades clean and well lubricated (most groomers don't), or they aren't professionals and don't realize that EVERY blade heats up. Thanks for reading.

Broke first use

I have been grooming 20 years and have never had a blade break as easily as these one do. First time I used it with my wahl combs they shattered.
