Ear assistant, to be sure! Previously, I would gently pluck a few hairs, after applying powder, with my fingers, to decrease potential discomfort. But I could never quite get my fingers in deep enough. Now I can still gently pluck a few hairs with the extra length of this locking hemostat. Didn't need a long one, just this shorter size and it works beautifully. Kudos to Pet Edge!
