As a certified dog trainer, I can't say enough good things about this product. It's a medium density, all-natural rubber toy. It has a hollow center than can be filled with anything your dog likes. Kongs can be used for separation anxiety, boredom, destructive behaviors, compulsive behaviors, and for just plain fun! It bounces erratically when it strikes the ground.I also use it to teach household manners. A dog can't bark, bite, jump, fight, bolt, dig etc while happily gnawing on a stuffed Kong. It is also useful for zone training and for crate training. Also a helpful tool when you just need your dog to lie down and lick quietly while you enjoy the company of your guests. My dog's favorite recipe: use a dab of almond butter to plug the small whole, fill with chewy treats, cover with low sodium vegetable broth and freeze overnight. There you have it: a Kongsicle! Or, before you rush out the door, smear some peanut butter inside and your dog will forget you even left.
I use this for my dog who has separation anxiety. I was told by a dog behaviorist to fill the kong with canned dog food and freeze it. I give the dog some when I leave the house to keep him occupied.
